World Class Education
Our students deserve the highest quality education that we can offer. Since 2011, we have overhauled teacher tenure, implemented high standards, expanded charter schools and today Tennessee students are the fastest improving students in the country.
Community Safety
Our citizens come first always and through state laws we must protect them. Highway fatalities are down nearly 20% from their average due to increased focus on preventing accidents and stronger DUI laws. As a result of tougher laws, domestic violence offenses are down almost 15% since 2010.
Quality of Life
The health of our community has been supported thanks to the increased investments to the Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services to help care for the state’s most vulnerable.
Balancing the Budget
By implementing a conservative fiscal strategy, our state now has the lowest debt per capita of any state as well as the lowest overall taxes of any state. Tennessee’s rainy-day fund has been increased to $800 million which is the highest level ever. Through our leadership, we will continue to build off of this success.
